Amar Patel, M.D.
Amar Patel, M.D., grew up in Jacksonville and attended J.E.B. Stuart Middle School and Nathan Forrest High School. After graduating as the Valedictorian in a class of over 450 students, he attended Jacksonville University on a full scholarship. While at Jacksonville University, Dr. Patel completed a double major in biology and chemistry. He then entered the University of South Florida where he earned a joint MD/MBA degree in an accelerated four year combined program. After medical school, he returned to Jacksonville to complete his Medical internship and Diagnostic Radiology residency at the University of Florida Health Science Center. Dr. Patel remained at the University of Florida Jacksonville Campus an extra year to complete a Musculoskeletal Imaging fellowship. After that, Dr Patel moved to Houston, Texas, for an additional fellowship in Body Imaging at Baylor College of Medicine before returning to Jacksonville to join the Florida Radiation Oncology Group as a Diagnostic Radiologist in the Imaging Division. Amar is married to Dr. Tejal Patel, a Hematology-Oncologist who also did her training locally in Jacksonville. They enjoy traveling and spending time with family.
