Aref A. Badr, MD
As a Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT trained physician, Dr. Badr is intensely involved in the diagnostic imaging portion of our cancer management team.
A native of Iran, Dr. Badr was born in Tabriz and later moved to Hamadan where he completed university and medical school in 6.5 years. After spending 2 years as a generalist at West Azerbaijan State Health Centers, he started diagnostic radiology residency in Tabriz. He decided to pursue his career in the United States, and eventually moved to Champaigne, Illinois, in 2000, after acheiving his ECFMG certification. He performed a Transitional Year internship in Philadelphia, PA, followed by some Family Medicine training in Kansas City, MO, and then a Nuclear Medicine residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. After residency, he completed a PET/CT fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. In 2008, he moved to Jacksonville, FL, to join FROG and the ICON family.
During his residency years, Dr. Badr developed keen interests in oncology and cardiology imaging, and was involved in imaging research during his residency and fellowship years. He looks forward to pursuing these research efforts with FROG.
