The Novalis TX is the latest and most sophisticated tool available in the world for the delivery of Stereotactic Radiosurgery. This technology allows your radiation oncologist with an unprecedented ability to precisely focus, aim, and deliver very high doses of tumor-killing radiation to a target with minimal surrounding tissue damage, all in a fraction of the time required with other machines.

Installed in 2009 and located at our Baptist Cancer Institute, this advanced linear accelerator combines:

• Extremely precise dose contouring with micro-multi-leaf collimators
• IGRT with on-board imaging using both megavoltage and kilovoltage imaging techniques as well as CT scan imaging
  
• Respiratory gating to account for tumor motion
• Exac-Trac localization
• Dynamic conformal arc treatment capabilities.
