Pediatric Radiation
Premier Provider of Pediatric Radiation Oncology

The Florida Radiation Oncology Group (FROG) has been the premiere provider of pediatric radiation oncology in Northern Florida for over 35 years. We have extensive experience in treating all types of pediatric cancers as part of a multidisciplinary team at the Nemours Children’s Clinic, Wolfsons Children’s Hospital, and Baptist Medical Center.

The Pediatric Treatment Team
The treatment of pediatric cancers requires careful coordination and teamwork among several pediatric medical specialists, including pediatric oncologists, radiation oncologists, surgeons, radiologists, and pathologists. However, we also recognize that the most important part of the treatment team is the child’s parents, and you will play an active role in every step of your child’s treatment plan.

State-of-the-Art Facilities with Cutting Edge Technology
Our pediatric treatment center in Jacksonville offers advanced, state-of the art facilities and technology. This includes Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), 3-D Conformal Radiation, Gamma Knife Stereotactic Radiosurgery, Iodine-131 Treatment, and Total Body Irradiation (TBI). We also have full pediatric anesthesia support for those children who are very young and need anesthesia for their radiation treatments.

Children’s Oncology Group Protocols
Our pediatric radiation oncologists and treatment center are fully certified by the Children’s Oncology Group (COG). Children treated at our centers are eligible to participate in cutting edge treatment protocols that are at the forefront of pediatric oncology research. This provides access to the most advanced treatments for pediatric malignancies, and it also ensures the highest quality standards of care in pediatric medicine.

FROG’s Commitment to You
We recognize that having a child diagnosed with cancer is an extremely difficult and stressful event in the lives of the child, parents, family, and friends. We at FROG strive to provide an open, reassuring environment to you and your family, and we are committed to providing compassionate, state-of-the-art treatment as partners with you in your child’s cancer care.
