FROG has a longstanding commitment to professional education, and many FROG physicians either currently hold or have held academic positions during their careers. You might well see a variety of people in our clinics pursuing their academic dreams.
Mayo Clinic: FROG is an active clinical site for training of Radiation Oncology physician residents from the Mayo Clinic—Jacksonville residency training program. The residents spend several months of their 4 year program under our wing.
University of Florida: During their years of Medical Oncology Fellowship training, the University of Florida physician fellows spend at least a month at our Baptist—Downtown Campus learning about radiation oncology and participating in the care of our patients. We are proud to be the representatives of our specialty to these future cancer clinicians.
Medical Schools: Medical students from the United States and abroad will frequently choose a rotation with FROG during their senior medical school years to have an opportunity to explore our specialty as a potential career choice.
Florida Community College Jacksonville (FCCJ): FROG is a primary participant in the training of Radiation Therapy Technologists (RTT’s) in this active program, providing both didactic lectures to the school and students, as well as clinical sites for them to rotate through. Graduates of this program are employed in cancer centers throughout the southeastern United States, as well as in many of our own centers.
